Overview

Each year our Annual Forum invites leaders to provide insights on a topical theme. This year, we look at the importance of taking a fresh perspective in uncertain times. During this virtual event, our panel will share their personal and professional insights into the value of taking a different approach as individuals, in workplaces and as a society. Speaker

Susan was appointed Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director in August 2012 and a Director of Mirvac Board in November 2012. Prior to this appointment, Susan was Managing Director at LaSalle Investment Management. Susan has also held senior executive positions at MGPA, Macquarie Group and Lend Lease Corporation, working in Australia, the US and Europe. Susan is the Immediate Past President of the Property Council of Australia, Chair of the Green Building Council of Australia, a member of the NSW Public Service Commission Advisory Board, President of INSEAD Australasian Council and a member of the INSEAD Global Board. Susan holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of Sydney and an MBA (Distinction) from INSEAD (France).

Gigi is a Professor with the School of Economics at the University of New South Wales. She works in diverse fields including education, social influence, corruption, lab experiments, time use, behavioural economics, and Australian policy. Her research contributions regularly inform public debates and appear in both specialised and cross-disciplinary academic outlets. Named 2019 Young Economist of the Year by the Economic Society of Australia, Gigi engages regularly outside the academy as one of Australia’s leading economics communicators, including via co-hosting The Economists, a national economics talk-radio program and podcast series with Peter Martin AM on ABC Radio National. She also co-founded the UNSW School of Economics rock band, The Standard Deviants.

Shaun founded Precision Group in 1994 and serves as its CEO and Managing Director, being principally responsible for the strategic direction of Precision. In addition, Shaun acts as a Director and Strategic Adviser of various entities, including as Chairman of Litigation Lending, Prezzee, Skyfii, iSelect and Lenders Direct. Shaun holds a Bachelor of Arts (Major in Jurisprudence), Bachelor of Law and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Adelaide and is a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of Australia. Shaun is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a member of the Young Presidents’ Organisation, and of the President’s Council of the Art Gallery of NSW. Philanthropy is also a key part of Shaun’s activities, and he acts as Deputy Chairman of Life Education Australia, is a Director of the Princes Trust, a Director of the Chinese Language and Culture Education Foundation of Australia, and founder of his own charity the Heartfelt Foundation that focus on assisting charities and people in distress.

Adam Spencer was completing a PhD in Pure Mathematics when he happened to win the national Triple J Raw Comedy championship in 1996. From there, a television and radio career beckoned and Adam completed 15 years as one of Australia’s most respected, wittiest, and thought-provoking breakfast radio commentators across Triple J and later ABC 702.
