Speaker

Melita Long, from Careers on Purpose, is a qualified career and executive coach who has successfully coached and/or trained 3,000+ clients since 2003. Her 25+ years’ experience includes career coaching, HR, recruitment, training, and corporate marketing. Melita has worked in tertiary education, healthcare, the public sector, financial and professional services, in Australasia and Europe.

Melita specialises in coaching mid-life career professionals and executives from all corporate professions and industries to achieve career success. As a Career Development Consultant at Melbourne Business School for three years she coached MBA, executive and senior executive MBA students up to CEO and Board level with career transitions and progressions.

In 2003 she left her financial services marketing career and chose career coaching to help others find their purpose in careers and jobs they enjoy. She talked her way into establishing career services for a recruitment firm, then set up her own business Careers on Purpose in 2005.

Melita enjoys helping people feel more satisfied and confident in their jobs and careers, including identifying a new career direction that meets their values and uses their skills. She teaches how to people identify and quantify their achievements in their roles and them how to define their value in their CVs, LinkedIn, cover letters, personal branding, and interviews. She also helps her clients progress their current career internally, to get new promotions they are excited about, and negotiate better salary and conditions. It always gives Melita delight when her clients succeed in their careers.
