Sangeeta Venkatesan, Applegrove Capital

Sangeeta Venkatesan has more than 20 years of experience in the banking and finance industry, working with CBA, Goldman Sachs, KPMG, Lehman Brothers/Nomura, Morgan Stanley and Standard Chartered Bank. That experience, primarily in Corporate Finance and Global Markets, spans the globe – Hong Kong, London, Mumbai, Singapore and Sydney.

She is now the CEO of Applegrove Capital, that provide financial product advice.

Prior to joining Applegrove, Sangeeta joined AIMS in 2016 to develop and grow AIMS’ businesses with a strong emphasis on the Australia-Asia corridor, focussed on facilitating cross-border investment needs for Australian and Asian companies. Prior to joining AIMS, Sangeeta was the Head of Renminbi (‘RMB’) & China Solutions at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (‘CBA’) where she represented CBA at various Australia-China financial collaboration dialogues including the ‘Australia Week in China’ in April 2016 led by the Minister for Trade and Investment, the Hon Steven Ciobo MP, the Australia RMB Committee and co-authored a report titled “The Renminbi – from the Peoples’ Money to a Global Currency” focusing on the evolving Chinese economy and financial liberalisation, and opportunities for both Australian and Chinese companies that trade or invest across the Australia-China corridor.

She also represented Nomura at the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) Credit Derivatives Committee and Association of Financial Markets in Europe (AFME) Credit Board. Sangeeta is a keen advocate for diversity and culture and is also a guest lecturer at University of Sydney. Sangeeta is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
